Reviews & Testimonials

This fabulous review was posted on my book’s Facebook Fan page.  Thanks so much Julia!  I love to hear from my readers the most!

My name is Julia and I am 8 years old. My mom gave me Danny in a Newfangled World to read and I LOVED it!!

It was great to read about Danny because he was funny and it got really interesting when the computer asked Danny to go INSIDE. After Danny clicked Yes, he got to play really cool video games inside the computer… that his mom doesn’t let him play. Before going into the computer Danny was really bored cause his mom would only let him play one video game!

There is a really big surprise that happens to one of the friends Danny makes IN the computer, its near the end of the book so I can’t give it away, but this surprise makes it such a great story and you just want to keep reading it!!!!

I can’t wait for the sequel to find out what happens to Danny next !!! Thank you so much for writing such a great book.

Julia, 8 years old

As avid readers, my wife and I raised our kids on books and are now helping them do the same with our grandkids. Looking for holiday gifts, we stumbled across an absolute treasure, “Danny in a Newfangled World” by D.M. Bileski.

This book is the best of Alice In Wonderland, Huckleberry Finn and Peter Pan, all rolled into one, for 6 to 11 year old video game masters, computer geniuses and Internet wizards. The hero, 10 year old Danny Lenesky, in constant battle with his mom to get in “just one more” video game before shutting down his computer for the night, is magically sucked into his computer and onto a journey that would be the envy of no less than Lewis Carroll.

Written to engage young children, it is every bit as appealing to their parents and grandparents. “Danny” entertains all, at the same time providing a very valuable and useful lesson about priorities, and what is really important. Think about it. Youngsters today are taught the physical world tangibles, to avoid strangers at every turn and to look both ways before crossing streets. But who is teaching them about the equally important intangibles that confront them, to beware the potential excesses of cyberspace tempting them at every turn?

In “Danny,” our young hero learns this lesson for himself, in words and tale his contemporaries will fully grasp and understand, and that will keep them engaged and spellbound, from the first page to the last. A page turner with the best of them!

Ms. Bileski has done a wonderful job, and a genuine service. This is a delightful book. I look forward to sharing it, and the next installments, with our grandkids.

It was awesome. I read five chapters the first day, one chapter the second day and on the third day, I finished the whole thing!

My 8 year old son polished off this book in one day! He came up for air only long enough to update me on the latest details of the story. I’ve never seen him so engaged in a book. He absolutely loved it!
